A laboratory and a production site
The new UINT labs, located within an old military base in Limoges (3hrs from south of Paris) will handle the hybridization differently, in order to make the process more efficiently and suitable with flexible electronics boards. In particular, the Pick & Place step will be carried on for all components simultaneously thanks to suited robots. This approach was made possible due to the investment already done in a clean room environment (ISO6 and ISO7). The facility offers a high level of security and provides UINT with sufficient scope for expansion.
UINT new industrial processes will enable us to develop thin and flexible electronics with numerous components (RF dies: 13.56 MHz, or 2.4 GHz with associated antennas, microprocessors, Secure Element, sensors, LEDs, piezo, switch etc.) in volume in its own plant in Limoges (France).
The industrial equipments have been partially financed by European Regional Development Fund.
How we manufacture a card with embedded electronics

The lamination consists of encapsulating
the flex into printed plastic sheets.
As there are some very sensitive electronics
components inside the card, a "normal"
lamination is not recommended.
We have our "recipe" to allow a hot lamination
for embedded electronics.Lamination
After the lamination, we have a sheet
with a lot of cards.
The laminated flex sheet is cut into
cards to obtain a card format.
Precision is crucial as...Card cutting
The personnalisation consists of injecting
a firmware or specific data into a card
like secret keys, banking information...
A visual personnalisation such as embossing,
printing a bar code or a picture could be done.
